Ensuring all have access to our children's ministry space

Key facts

  • Elevator moves between the east side of the basement and an expanded foyer between the Worship Center and Discipleship Center
  • Estimated project cost of $200,000

The vision

Why build an elevator and expand our foyer? One of the downsides of our lower level space since it was constructed in the early 90s is that it is not accessible to everyone. In 2021 when that space was renovated to exclusively serve our childrens and youth ministry, the need was obvious. If all the children were downstairs, we needed the downstairs to be accessible to all children -- and all leaders.

After several attempts to locate the elevator near the main stairs were rejected due engineering reasons, Pastor Seth and Nate came up with a fresh idea in 2022. It was a God thing. The elevator could be located outside the main wall in the rear courtyard. Of course that means a hallway was needed to get to it. Then another idea evolved. Our ministry focuses on relationships, and a big part of that is fellowship times between services and other ministries. So this plan was born to not only add an elevator but expand our fellowship space.
