At a glance

You’ll feel the excitement! Awana is a children’s club ministry that meets Sunday night 4-5:45 p.m. From September to May. Children from preschool through sixth grade enjoy Bible memory, practical bible principles and fantastic games.

Purpose Statement

  • To reach children and their families with the gospel
  • To build our future generation through scripture memorization and application
  • To involve leaders in effective ministry and train young people to serve Christ

Children play games at AwanaAge Groups

Awana offers a series of clubs and programs, each geared to the needs of a particular age or grade. The Open Door Awana program is composed of three different groups:
  • Cubbies: Boys and girls ages 3-4.
  • Sparks: Boys and girls currently in Kindergarten, and grades one and two.
  • Truth and Training (T&T): Boys and girls in grades 3-6.

A typical night

  • Opening - All Awana clubbers are together for pledges, prayer, singing and announcements.
  • Council Time - Time for a devotional, testimony or guest speaker. Sparks and T&T each have a separate Council time.
  • Handbook Time - Each group is in separate classrooms as the clubbers say their memory verses and get sections checked off in their handbooks.
  • Games - Groups are divided into teams (red, blue, yellow, & green). The games are played in the Awana "circle".
  • Closing - All groups and parents meet at 5:40 p.m. for the weekly awards presentation.
