Age Groups
Awana offers a series of clubs and programs, each geared
to the needs of a particular age or grade. The Open Door Awana program
is composed of three different groups:
- Cubbies: Boys and girls ages 3-4.
- Sparks: Boys and girls currently in Kindergarten,
and grades one and two.
- Truth and Training (T&T): Boys and girls in grades
3-6.
A typical night
- Opening - All Awana clubbers are together for
pledges, prayer, singing and announcements.
- Council Time - Time for a devotional, testimony or
guest speaker. Sparks and T&T each have a separate Council time.
- Handbook Time - Each group is in separate classrooms
as the clubbers say their memory verses and get sections checked off
in their handbooks.
- Games - Groups are divided into teams (red, blue,
yellow, & green). The games are played in the Awana "circle".
- Closing - All groups and parents meet at 5:40 p.m.
for the weekly awards presentation.
